The parents of Location, Location, Location presenter Phil Spencer have died in a car crash. His father, Richard, 89, and mum Anne, 82, tragically died on Friday lunchtime when the car they were travelling crashed into a shallow tributary river that runs through their estate.
It happened on the farm at Littlebourne, near Canterbury, Kent, where Phil, 53, and his siblings grew up. Richard and Anne were on their way to a pub lunch when the tragedy occurred.
Police and the fire brigade scrambled to the scene and an air ambulance landed on the farm. They were both pulled from the car and taken to hospital, where Richard was pronounced dead, and Anne died a little while later.
A woman in her 60s was travelling in the car with them, but she managed to escape with only minor injuries. Kirstie Allsopp, 51, Phil's co-presenter on Location, Location, Location is said to be comforting the star, and revealed that the fact that Phil's parents died together is a "great source of solace" to him and his family.
