A man who was killed after being hit by a car in a Scots village has been hailed as a "true gent".Calum Rae, 28, died following the incident on Old Meldrum Road in Newmachar, Aberdeenshire, at 1am on Thursday.
Emergency services raced to the scene but Calum, from Inverurie, was pronounced dead at the scene.A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection and released pending further enquiries.
Following the devastating news tributes have flooded in from Calum's loved ones. In a heartbreaking post on social media, Scott Campbell said: "Calum was my best friend since we were both eight years old at Dunecht Primary.
