Three people have been rushed to hospital after a black cab smashed into pedestrians outside Glasgow Central today.The horror crash unfolded around 1.50pm on Union Street, at the junction with Gordon Street sparking a major emergency response in the city centre.Emergency services were scrambled to the scene just outside the Tesco Express at the busy road.

Dozens of police cars, ambulance crews and firefighters all descended on the area in response to the major incident.Cops have confirmed that three people were taken by ambulance to hospital and that one person made their way from the scene.Eyewitnesses were left stunned after they saw the cab mount the pavement at a set of traffic lights.Police erected screens around the scene and the black cab as they locked down the major junction.Pictures from the scene show the hackney cab fully on the pavement as firefighters assess the scene, with a police cordon in place.

Another photo shows a green covering around the scene, with blue Police Scotland barriers also erected around the crash site.

One eyewitness earlier told the Record: "Just witnessed a taxi run two people over at Glasgow Central." A second eyewitness added: "The emergency services arrived on Union Street quickly and erected screens around the area and the black cab."Another person said: "I just walked by a major incident outside Glasgow Central Station.
