Liam Gallagher
William John Paul Gallagher (born 21 September 1972) is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Oasis in the 1990s and 2000s, and later fronted the rock band Beady Eye in the early 2010s, before beginning a solo career after the dissolution of both bands. One of the most recognisable figures in British music, he is noted for his outspoken and abrasive manner; penchant for wearing parkas; distinctive singing style, in which he elongates vowels; and signature stance on stage, which consists of him holding his arms behind his back and singing up into a downward-facing microphone.

Oasis announce when they’ll reveal Australian reunion tour dates

Oasis have confirmed that they’ll soon be adding an Australian leg to their upcoming reunion tour.Earlier this week, Liam and Noel Gallagher announced a string of shows across North America – marking the first international dates for their reunion tour.

Shortly after, four new dates were added due to “phenomenal demand”.Later, an exclusive source told NME that the Gallagher brothers are set to announce more reunion shows within the US and other international territories such as South Korea, Japan, Australia, Brazil, Chile and Argentina.Now, Oasis have confirmed that the Australia dates are on the way.

Taking to their Twitter/X account today (October 5), the band shared images of two billboards that read “Australia: It’s your shout!”.Both billboards appear to be in Melbourne – the city sources close to the tour previously revealed to NME would be hosting the reunion shows.

Alongside the photos, the caption reads: “Tuesday, 8am AEDT,” suggesting the exact dates and venues will be announced on October 8.TUESDAY, 8AM AEDT #OasisLive25 pic.twitter.com/J9aE6AgDBI— Oasis (@oasis) October 5, 2024Tickets for the North American leg of the reunion tour went on sale yesterday (October 4) and promptly sold out.

Robert Smith has discussed the lyrics and inspiration for The Cure’s new single ‘Alone’ in a new video.The Cure shared the track, the lead single from their upcoming album ‘Songs Of A Lost World’, on September 26, and it marks the first time the six-piece have shared new studio material since their 2008 album ‘4:13 Dream’.Smith said at the time that the track was inspired by the Ernest Dowson poem Dregs, and he’s expanded on the inspiration further in a video uploaded to The Cure’s official YouTube channel.“I rediscovered a poem by Ernest Dowson, an English poet – it’s called Dregs,” he began in the video. “I’ve got a book and I jot down over the years things that I think [are] interesting’.

Chrissie Hynde has announced an upcoming London art show titled ‘Hynde Sight – Recent Paintings’.On Tuesday (October 2), The Pretenders frontwoman unveiled the exhibition of her latest paintings, with over 60 works available for viewing. Among them are still life works, self portraits and paintings of “dear friends” including Brian Eno and Paul Weller.Opening on November 21 and running until December 12 at 4 Cromwell Place in London, the Hynde Sight exhibition was arranged in association with Broadbent Gallery, and follows a recent showing of Hynde’s paintings at the 2024 British Art Fair at Saatchi Gallery.Painting has become entwined with the ‘Brass in Pocket’ singer’s wider creative output, with her artwork providing the cover for 2019’s ‘Valve Bone Woe’, as well as providing inspiration for Vivienne Westwood’s Spring-Summer 2021 collection.Touching on the upcoming exhibition, Hydne said in a statement: “What was a meditative practice had turned into something more substantial and could not now be ignored.“Like lyrics for a song waiting to be written, the paintings kept accumulating, wanting to be seen.
