Thousands sign up to Beat the Street at interactive game launch event in East Kilbride

Beat the Street East Kilbride has launched with more than 8000 people signing up on its launch day - walking, cycling, and rolling their way to more than 6100 miles.

The popular free, interactive travel game encourages people to walk, cycle and wheel for prizes.The game started yesterday (September 18) with an official launch at Universal Connections in the town, and will run for six weeks.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

To play, players need a card which can be collected from one of the distribution centres listed at www.beatthestreet.me/eastkilbride or, alternatively, players over the age of 13 can download the free Beat the Street app to play the game on their phone.
