Speeding and performing wheelies, they brought 'misery' to the streets and lives of residents. Riders on off-road bikes and quads were caught weaving through traffic and flying along pedestrianised streets in Warrington.
But now, a major operation set up to put a stop to the incidents blighting the town has seen the illegal ebikes and off-road bikes completely crushed at a scrap metal facility.
Video footage shared by Cheshire Police shows the 21 illegal bikes that have so far been seized, being crushed at the scrap metal recycling facility.
Inspector Lee Hillyard said the bike riders had 'caused misery' to the lives of those in the area. READ MORE Police investigate cause of death theory in mum and daughter murder-suicide case "These are not innocent kids riding bikes, these are criminally used bikes that have caused misery and antisocial behaviour to the lives of residents," he said.
