But now, a major operation set up to put a stop to the incidents blighting the town has seen the illegal ebikes and off-road bikes completely crushed at a scrap metal facility.
Video footage shared by Cheshire Police shows the 21 illegal bikes that have so far been seized, being crushed at the scrap metal recycling facility.
Inspector Lee Hillyard said the bike riders had 'caused misery' to the lives of those in the area.
