Craig Levein has been hit with a Scottish Football Association ban - even though he was sacked by St Johnstone earlier this month. The veteran boss has been hit one a one match ban, with a further game suspended, which will come into play if he was to commit a similar offence again.
Levein has been punished for criticising referee Iain Snedden and fourth official George Calder for their decision to send off Jack Sanders late on in St Johnstone’s defeat to Motherwell.
An SFA disciplinary committee sat on Thursday and took action against the former Scotland manager. It means that if Levein takes up another managerial or coaching job he will need to take the first game from the stands.
The ban will remain in place until the end of the 2026-27 season. An SFA statement read: "One match immediate, and one match suspended until the end of Season 2026/27."Suspended sanction applicable only should Craig Levein further breach Disciplinary Rule 77 within this period.
