Spencer Matthews spent two days of his Spanish holiday in hospital after he reportedly overdosed on cold sore tablets.According to his wife Vogue, their peaceful getaway was ruined after she became unwell with a brutal sickness bug - and her husband was also rushed to hospital. Her aunt - who had joined them on the trip also became unwell for four days, reports the Mirror.Speaking about how their holiday rapidly went downhill on her podcast, My Therapist Ghosted Me, she joked to her co-host Joanne McNally: "Spenny was hospitalised for two days because he is a little b***h and he can’t handle it."Shocked by the revelation, Joanne asked the reason why he was hospitalised.

Vogue replied: "Well I will tell you what, he overdosed on cold sore tablets."She added: "I am not joking, I am not joking, I’m not.

He overdosed on cold sore tablets and his liver function, because he did it for a full week, taking ten of these things and he said ‘oh they’re fine’ and he did it to me when I thought I felt a tingle and he said ‘darling take six of these and you’ll be fine’ and you’re only meant to take two."Despite the initial shock, she added that she wasn't sure that an "overdose" was the reason for his illness and it was likely the sickness bug had infected the family - but Spencer in particular had it worse. The pair were joined in Spain by their three kids - four-year-old Theodore, Gigi, three, and one-year-old baby son Otto.

The couple - who met in 2017 - had been celebrating Gigi's birthday on the trip. Get the latest celebrity gossip and telly news sent straight to your inbox.
