A South Carolina town has been left without a police force to patrol its population of roughly 2,000 people, according to a report.
Lexington County’s small town of Pine Ridge typically boasts a police force made up of a maximum of three full-time officers plus part-time police department personnel.
But its interim police chief resigned in mid-October, with five officers subsequently following suit, The (Columbia) State reported.
