Snow could hit Scotland later in March as weather maps turn purple

Parts of Scotland will get more snow in the coming weeks despite spring being just around the corner, according to weather maps.Despite it being March, temperatures are have been chilly across the UK, accompanied by rainfall and winds.

According to forecasters at Metdesk, once we get to Thursday, March 21, some of this rain might even turn into snow.Weather experts have shared maps that show a purple colour - which means 'snow' - from the very top of Scotland down to the central belt by March 17.

The heaviest snowfall is expected in Perthshire, Scotland, by around mid-morning.However as we travel further down south and into the week, the snow will turn into heavy rain - especially in areas like the East Midlands.

The heavy rain will spread across most of the UK by Thursday, March 21. These predictions are not confirmed to be the final forecast as the meteorologists warned that sometimes long-range forecasts can change quite a bit, reports the Mirror.
