Security guard hurt in alleged Scots court attack by handcuffed prisoner

A court security guard was hospitalised after an alleged attack by a handcuffed prisoner in the dock. The male GEOAmey officer needed emergency treatment for a facial wound after the alleged incident at Airdrie Sheriff Court.

Joseph Mullins, 33, of Lanark, appeared at the same court on Friday and faced a charge of assault to injury. He made no plea during the private hearing and was remanded in custody to await trial.
