TWO Scots endurance racers from different teams enjoyed podium successes in the opening rounds of the 2021 Asian Le Mans Series last weekend.The Covid-impacted competition saw two fiercely contested four-hour races take place in Dubai – involving a packed field of 36 LMP2, LMP3 and GT cars.And in the first race, Midlothian’s Colin Noble and Nielsen Racing team-mate Tony Wells showed their intent to defend their 2020 LMP3 crown.They saw off some stiff competition to bring home their No9 Ligier JS P320-Nissan in second place in class on Saturday.
Unfortunately, though, they did not finish Sunday’s race after suffering suspension failure late on.But it was the turn of well-known British GT racer Ian Loggie, from Motherwell, and his United.
