A schoolgirl has died after getting into difficulty in the River Teith, near Bridge of Allan, in a tragic incident last week.The 14-year-old got in to difficulty near to Carse of Lecropt Road at around 5.50pm on Tuesday, July 12.A frantic rescue mission was launched and she was pulled from the water and flown by air ambulance to hospital in Glasgow where she passed away on Saturday, July 16.Click here for more news and sport from the Stirling area.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.50pm on Tuesday, July 12, police were called to a report of a 14-year-old girl in difficulty in the River Teith near to Carse of Lecropt Road, Bridge of Allan.

Emergency services attended and the girl was taken by Air Ambulance to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Glasgow, where she died on Saturday, 16 July."Officers are providing support to her family and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
