Ricky Hatton has opened up about how he aims to guide his son Campbell through his burgeoning boxing career. The 44-year-old became a five-time world champion before hanging up his gloves, becoming renowned for his legion of travelling supporters.
However, painful defeats to two all-time greats in Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao ultimately led Hatton to be confronted with mental health problems for several years before seeking necessary help.
His life story is portrayed in the brutally honest Hatton documentary, which ends with poignant scenes as the former champion enjoys training his stable of fighters and spending time with his family.
That includes son Campbell, who has built a 13-0 record as he continues to rise through the ranks. Campbell, 22, is trained by his uncle Matthew Hatton, but Ricky still hold an important role, both as a dad and boxing mentor.
