A retired carpenter died from cancer, after being exposed to asbestos in his working days, an inquest has heard. Alan Rowlett, 78, died at his home in Leaconfield Drive, Worsley on Tuesday.
Mr Rowlett was diagnosed with mesothelioma in 2018, after being exposed to asbestos while working as a joiner. Police coroner's officer Rebecca Gardner told Bolton Coroner's Court: "Sadly Alan's condition deteriorated and he was pronounced dead at 15.30 on 31st March 2020." The cause of death was given as "malignant mesothelioma" by Dr Greaves from The Sides Medical Centre, in Swinton.
