Christine McGuinness ate barely 300 calories a week at the height of her anorexia battle while living and working as a dancer in Paris, France, as a teenager. The 33 year old mum-of-three, who recently shared all about her husband's dramatic hospital dash, has opened up on some of the darker times in her life in her new memoir A Beautiful Nightmare.

She detailed how, despite spending an incredible time in the city and getting the opportunity to kickstart her career as a podium dancer, her eating disorder got "out of control".

At one point she would survive on eating only just 90 calories every other day. Reflecting on the period in her book, the Real Housewives of Cheshire star, who shares children Penelope, Leo and Felicity with her husband Paddy McGuinness, 48, said it was still one of the best jobs she's ever had and she was incredibly happy.

"No one was keeping an eye on me, so I barely ate. "I was dancing and burning a lot of calories, and I never took a dinner break. "It was easy for me to get away with not eating, because no one was watching me." Going on to say in hindsight she knew her habits weren't "great" for her health as she said: "So, it wasn’t great for my health, but it was one of the happiest times of my life. "I have no regrets, and at the time it was my own little rendition of my favourite film, Dirty Dancing." While living in Paris, the reality TV star spent every night dancing in nightclubs, and it soon became "addictive" due to the hefty tips.
