A restaurant where a 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a teenage boy has been stripped of its licence. Stockport council licensing chiefs said they had ‘no faith’ in the management of Loona, in Cheadle Hulme, after hearing evidence at a town hall hearing. The Station Road venue’s licence was suspended last month after police urgently called a review following a report that a teenage girl had been raped in the female toilets.

It has now been permanently revoked after councillors found it had operated with a 'consistent and sustained disregard' for licensing rules.Coun Alanna Vine, who chaired the three-strong panel, said there had been ‘significant and repeated failures’ which demonstrated a ‘sustained disregard for the licensing objectives’.

These include protecting children from harm and preventing crime and disorder.READ MORE: ‘Horrified’ councillor says his comments about people ‘crossing the channel in an open boat’ have been misinterpreted She added: “What’s more, on the evidence before them, the sub-committee has no faith that the management could run the premises responsibly and in accordance with the conditions of the licence.” The panel again heard evidence that a group of teenagers had been drinking and smoking shisha in a conservatory area at the back of the venue.

The following day, police received an allegation that a 16-year-old girl had been raped in the restaurant’s toilets by a boy of the same age.
