Ali Wong and Steven Yeun had a tough time playing mortal enemies in the new Netflix series BEEF.
The duo, who play characters that find themselves embroiled in a bitter feud following a road rage incident, opened up about the toll that the show took on their bodies while attending its premiere at the 2023 SXSW Conference and Festivals on Saturday (March 18) in Austin, Texas. Ali agreed, taking it one step further. “Steven and I both broke out in hives after the show.
Mine was on my face. His was all over his body because he’s weak like that,” she joked. “It definitely took a toll on us, but we didn’t even realize until after the show ended.
I mean, I won’t even talk about what happened to your elbow.” Ali added that they likely did know how tough it was going to be. “If we knew what we were going to put our bodies and minds through, maybe we wouldn’t have said yes, but we’re really glad we did,” she mused.
