Torrential rain has caused chaos on the east coast of Scotland on Friday, with houses, roads and vehicles flooded, and the Met Office warned there could be a danger to life in parts of Scotland.
The Met Office issued a rain warning for eastern parts of the country which will last until 9pm on Friday as a month's worth of rain is expected to lash down.Fast-flowing or deep floodwater is likely, “causing danger to life”.
Drivers are being urged to take care after 26 'red' flood warnings and nine flood alerts were issued.The stormy conditions left a number of roads closed as pictures showed cars submerged, as commuters fought through the floods in Fife, Tayside and Grampian.
In Dairsie in Fife, the River Eden burst its banks, leaving a neighbouring house flooded. Pictures from a bridge crossing the water show the river has spread into the fields and garden surrounding the property.
