Prince William and his daughter Princess Charlotte posted a joint message of support to the England women's football team, the Lionesses, ahead of their match tomorrow in the final of the FIFA Women's World Cup.

The team will be taking on Spain in the final, after beating Australia in the semi-final.The Prince of Wales, who is the president of the Football Association, appeared in a sweet video, posted to the Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram, alongside his adorable eight year old daughter who held a football on her knee.

Prince William, 41, said: "Lionesses, I want to send you huge 'good luck' for tomorrow. "We're sorry we can't be there in person, but we're so proud of everything you've achieved, and the millions you've inspired here [UK] and around the world. "So go out there tomorrow and really enjoy yourselves." Charlotte then added: "Good Luck, Lionesses!" It comes after Prince William has received criticism for not flying to Australia for the final match, despite being the president of the Football Association.

Some of the comments on the Instagram post saw Royal fans express their dismay that William is not attending. One wrote: "You should be there if it really meant anything to you."
