The new £6.7billion TV deal will provide Manchester United and Man City with a cash boost and a financial confidence as both clubs seek to grow already impressive revenues.

City published a record revenue of £712.8m last month while United's figure was £648m. Both clubs are among the leading commercial clubs in world football and while the added finances provided by the bumper TV deal will be welcome, it will only swell the coffers of the Manchester pair by a relatively small amount.

But the security offered by a four-year deal will provide a stability which will be welcomed at Old Trafford as the takeover process continues to rumble on while City could potentially be hit with a punishment for breaching FFP charges. The domestic deal for 2022/25 stood at around £4.9bn. The international deal was around £5bn. The domestic deal was struck over three years, with 200 live games available through various packages.
