Eintracht Frankfurt's manager has described Donny van de Beek as an outstanding footballer ahead of his move to Germany. The Manchester Evening News reported last week that Manchester United are closing in on a deal with Frankfurt that would see the midfielder join the Bundesliga side on loan in the January window.
Van de Beek has agreed personal terms with Eintracht, who are now set to finalise a loan fee with United in a deal that will also include the option to make it permanent for £12.5million. Eintracht manager Dino Toppmoller was recently asked by the Frankfurter Allgemeine what the midfielder would bring to his side and although he insisted the deal wasn't done, he praised Van de Beek. “He’s [Van de Beek] not our player yet," Toppmoller said. “I think everyone who knows a little bit about football knows that he is an outstanding footballer.
If he signs, we would be looking forward to it.” Van de Beek came close to leaving United in the summer, but interest from Real Sociedad, Lorient, Fenerbache and Galatasaray failed to materialise.
