Sir Jim Ratcliffe has finally managed to complete his minority acquisition of Manchester United, subject to the deal gaining approval.
The INEOS founder had been the frontrunner to invest in the Reds since October when his rival Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani withdrew from the process.
However, after initially wanting to purchase a 60 per cent stake in United, Ratcliffe had to change his approach when it became clear the Glazers wanted to stay.
