Police make 26 arrests and seize knife on first day of Parklife 2023

Police arrested 26 people on the first day of Parklife festival at Heaton Park. The majority of the arrests were for drugs offences, while one knife was also seized from a festivalgoer.

In total, eight people were arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal drugs. Officers arrested 17 people on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, with one of these suspects also arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.

Police said a 'robust security plan' was in place yesterday and will remain in place on the second day of the festival today to keep people safe.
