Police cordon off area outside busy supermarket in Edinburgh amid incident

Police cordoned off an area outside a Lidl store in Edinburgh last night. Several officers were seen erecting the small cordon outside the budget supermarket on Nicolson Street at around 9pm on Thursday, March 7.A police van and a police car were also at the scene.

Locals reported seeing blood and vomit on the ground outside of the shop as well as two officers standing in high vis at the site, reports Edinburgh Live.An eyewitness said: “I saw a police van parked outside some shops then noticed another police car across the road and two officers putting up a cordon“They taped off the area outside Lidl and it looked like the floor was covered with blood and vomit.“I then overheard the police officer saying somebody had been punched so I think some sort of altercation took place.”Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
