Planning permission has been unanimously granted for the development of a derelict historic farm steading just outside Perth.Plans for Kinvaid Farm at Moneydie were put in limbo after councillors previously granted listed building consent for works to be carried out on 19th century steading buildings but refused the detailed plans. But on Wednesday, January 10 Perth and Kinross Council's Planning and Placemaking Committee granted permission for the steading to be altered and extended to form seven homes and for a new home to be built east of the steading buildings.
On July 11, 2022 Listed Building Consent was granted for alterations and extension to buildings to form six houses. However planning permission was refused for the development and for two additional homes, ancillary outbuildings and the installation of a solar array.
A subsequent planning appeal to the Scottish Government was dismissed on January 26, 2023. The two-hectare site is about two miles west of Luncarty with the agricultural buildings and farmhouse situated around a central courtyard.
The steading and attached horse mill are C-listed.The revised plans saw the positioning of the new "enabling" house being built to the east - rather than two in the north - and the array of solar panels dropped from the proposals. At last week's meeting Cllr Ian James said it was "refreshing to see 11 letters of support" with one neutral letter of representation.
