Man to appear in court in connection with Elderslie "stabbing"

A man has been arrested in connection with a “stabbing” in Elderslie on Sunday. The incident occurred around 12.10pm on Phoenix Place in the village when it is alleged the 26-year-old “seriously assaulted” a 29-year-old man.

The Paisley Daily Express understands a bladed article was used in the attack. The older male was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the alleged assault.The 26-year-old was due in Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.10pm on Sunday, February 11, 2024 officers were called to a report of a serious assault in the Phoenix Place area of Johnstone."Emergency services attended and a 29-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital."A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident."He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Monday, February 12, 2024."
