Peter Wright lost a last leg showdown with Luke Littler in a brilliant battle with the teen sensation.Snakebite had the chance to win the quarter-final clash at 5-4 but missed the chance at double for the match and was punished by the youngster to take it to a deciding set.

The 17-year-old then kept his cool as he grabbed a 6-5 win in Newcastle to advance to the semi-finals. The Scotsman produced some excellent darts on the night and will be happy with how he performed but ultimately he will be disappointed at failing to advance to the last four on the night and put some points on the board in the fourth night of the BetMGM Premier League. The top four players after night 16 will contest the play-offs at The O2, London on Thursday May 23 and Wright will be keen to get up and running if he is to stand a chance of getting into that top four with a catch up job on his hands at this stage of the competition.

He currently sits bottom of the standings and is yet to register a point. Follow Record Sport on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for all of the up-to-the minute breaking news, video and audio on the SPFL, the Scotland national team and beyond.
