Pensioner dies in hospital after being hit by car in Renfrew

A pensioner has died after being hit by a car in Renfrew yesterday. The 81-year-old male was struck by the vehicle on Tuesday morning in residential Cambridge Road.The pedestrian was knocked down by a blue Ford Focus around 8am, say police.

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow as medics worked to save his life but, sadly, he was later pronounced dead.
