‘Our world has fallen apart’: Tragedy as 'wonderful' mum of six dies months after devastating diagnosis

A heartbroken daughter has described the devastation of losing her mum who was given just months to live after doctors missed her cancer symptoms for more than two years.

Demi Hodge said her mum Melissa Jayne Davis, 47, was constantly ‘back and forth’ from the doctors and by the time she received her cancer diagnosis it was too late.

After being ‘misdiagnosed with endometriosis and ulcerative colitis’, Melissa was eventually given a scan in January, Demi said.

A tumour was discovered and the mum-of-six was given a biopsy. When the results came back Melissa was given a devastating diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer and told she had just three to six months to live.
