Oppenheimer is extending its run in IMAX theaters! Originally set to end in the middle of August, the 70mm format screening of the Christopher Nolan film will now run until the end of the month, according to Variety. “It actually looks better in film,” Imax CEO Richard Gelfond shared with the outlet on why the run was extended. “It’s not just about nostalgia.

It’s a better experience.” His comments echo Christopher‘s, who has urged fans to go see it in that format over a regular movie screen for the optimal experience. Richard added that with Oppenheimer, the physical reels are 11 miles long and weigh 600 pounds.

The process is “time consuming and expensive,” he shared, but “worth it.” Just last month, it was reported that some IMAX tickets for the movie were being re-sold at around $1000!

While Oppenheimer is still in theaters, a Bluray format will be coming soon. But just don’t expect any deleted scenes to be on it.
