Universal Credit claimants will begin seeing an increase to their payments in just a few days. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) will be enforcing an increase of 6.7 per cent to a wide range of benefits on April 8.
It comes after Chancellor Jeremy Hunt confirmed the rises during the previous Spring Budget. When announcing the increase the House of Commons, he said the boost would amount to an average increase of £470 a year for 5.5 million households claiming Universal Credit.
