Touted as the final adventure for the titular heroes, Vol. 3 also marks trilogy writer-director James Gunn’s farewell to the MCU as he heads off to reboot DC’s cinematic output.

It certainly feels like a grand goodbye as the Guardians face off with not one but two significant threats - The High Evolutionary (Chukwudi Iwuji) and Adam Warlock (Will Poulter).

Starting off with an acoustic version of Radiohead’s Creep with a drunk Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) lamenting the loss of true love Gamora (Zoe Saldana), it’s clear we are in for a more sombre affair than its predecessors.
