Motorist who was stopped driving his mother's van only had provisional licence and no insurance

A driver stopped at the wheel of his mother's van in Wythenshawe had no insurance and just a provisional licence. Greater Manchester Police Traffic tweeted at 10.13pm on Wednesday that the man had no documentation "despite his lies to the contrary".

They said: "#GMPTransportUnit officers stopped this van in #Wythenshawe. Checks confirmed the driver only had a provisional driving licence and no insurance for his mum's van, despite his lies to the contrary.
