Missing Jay Slater's mum has announced she is withdrawing £36,000 from an online fundraiser launched to help find her missing son.

Debbie Duncan, who flew to Tenerife after the 19-year-old disappeared last Monday, announced the move via the GoFundMe.She said: "Hi everyone, this is Debbie again.

First, I would like to thank everyone for your support, kind messages, and good wishes. It’s difficult to wrap our heads around what is happening right now, but we are not losing hope that we will find Jay and return home together."She said the cash raised for the fundraiser, which is titled "Get Jay Slater home", will be used to support mountain rescue teams who are "tirelessly searching for Jay".As reported in the Mirror, she said: "We are currently working with GoFundMe to withdraw part of the funds, which are being safely held.

I wanted to share that these funds will be used to support the mountain rescue teams who are tirelessly searching for Jay."The online fundraiser was set up by Jay's best friend, Lucy Mae Law, with an initial target of £30,000.
