Michael Owen's teenage son sweetly said his dad was "inspirational" and has helped him "through hard times" as he candidly opened up on his sight loss condition.

Former England striker Michael Owen appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday morning along with his 17 year old son James Owen to raise awareness of Stargardt disease.

James was diagnosed with the rare condition at the age of eight and opened up on his struggles growing up before paying a sweet tribute to his dad.

On discovering James had the rare and incurable condition 10 years ago, Susanna asked James how his sight affected his dreams of being a footballer and taking after his famous dad.
