The 53-year-old actor was revealed over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con to be reprising his role of Dexter Morgan for the upcoming sequel series.
He’s also joined the cast of the prequel Dexter: Original Sin as the inner voice of young Dexter. While the news was exciting to most, some have also posed the question of how he could return after the character died at the end of the last sequel series Dexter: New Blood.
At Comic-Con, Michael hinted at how the character could come back after his death, which the showrunner, Clyde Phillips, confirmed in an interview after the show ended in 2022. Keep reading to find out more… “Was it?” Michael told Variety upon being asked about the death confirmation. “I don’t know what I am authorized to say other than, it’s really cold out there.” In the Dexter: New Blood finale, the series ended with Dexter bleeding out in the freezing cold.
