Brits are braced for a sizzling Monday with temperatures climbing up to the mid-thirties. That's the latest outlook from the Met Office, which is forecasting the warmest day of the year in some parts of the UK.

It comes as high-pressure winds have drawn in warm air from Europe, causing temperatures to soar on Sunday. Now it's set to make £65million' "Elsewhere, it's still going to be warm and humid, but the hottest weather will be in central eastern England." Temperatures are unlikely to exceed the UK record of 40.3C recorded at Coningsby, Lincolnshire, on July 19 2022, forecasters say.

But the Met Office recommends that people keep curtains closed during the peak of the day and drink lots of water. London, East Anglia and the home counties will experience the warmest weather, with highs of 33C expected in London.
