In 2007–08, he served for over ten weeks in Helmand, Afghanistan, but was pulled out after an Australian magazine revealed his presence there. He returned to Afghanistan for a 20-week deployment in 2012–13 with the Army Air Corps. He left the army in June 2015.

Meghan Markle is celebrating another year around the sun as she celebrates turning 42 on August 4.The Duchess of Sussex previously gave fans an insight into a birthday ritual, which she practices annually.

Meghan wrote about the tradition on her popular blog, The Tig, which she closed in 2017, where she would share snippets of her private life with her followers.

In a post from 2016, the year she met her future husband, Prince Harry, the Suits actress wrote: “My mom has always said that birthdays are your own personal New Year. “Your own chance to make resolutions just for yourself and what you prognosticate for your year ahead." She went on to detail her resolutions for the year ahead, saying: "More surprises, more adventure, more opportunities to grow, more days filled with giggles and cheeky jokes, more delicious meals, and more inspiration.
