The 42-year-old ex-actress made her infamous exit after seven seasons in 2018 when she married Prince Harry.Her former co-star Wendell Pierce — who played Rachel’s father, Robert Zane, on the USA Network series — recently divulged what he said to her on her last day of filming the show.In a clip for a forthcoming episode of “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” obtained by People, the character actor, 60, shared a story from Markle’s final scene.“It was the last night of working and I said, ‘Meghan, your life is going to change, and you’re going to be in a bubble, but just always remember, no matter what, I’m your friend — you have lots of friends,'” he recalled to host Chris Wallace, 76.Pierce continued: “‘We’re always thinking about you, we’ll always be there for you.
And you know, no matter where you are, always know you have a friend in me.'”The “Selma” actor also called the Duchess of Sussex “wonderful” as both a person and as an actress.“She’s the nicest person ever,” he gushed, adding that she probably “would love to act again.”Markle retired from acting when she joined the royal family in 2018.Pierce then gave his two cents about Markle and Harry, 39, choosing to live in Montecito, California, after taking a step back as senior members of the firm in 2020.The “Malcolm X” star said that the “controversy and the life living in the public eye always takes on a life of its own.”While being in the spotlight is “one of those things that sometimes you can’t control,” Pierce suggested that Markle and the Invictus Games founder should always “rely on [their] love.”“You love this man.
