The past year has proved to be a turbulent one for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. With the release of Prince Harry's memoir Spare in January, they were also asked to leave their Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor and have brought a number of legal cases against various media organisations and the Home Office.

Despite being rocked by ongoing rumours that their relationship is not as strong as we were once led to believe, the couple continue to put on a united front.

As Meghan celebrates her 42nd birthday today (Friday, 4 August), what might she be getting up to with her young family? Speaking exclusively to OK!, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond believes a relaxing day with her family could be on the cards for Meghan as she celebrates her big day. “It will probably start with an early morning yoga session, then a cuddle with her babies while Harry makes her a delicious and incredibly healthy breakfast. "Or maybe as a treat Archie will help make birthday waffles as we know the late Queen gave him a waffle maker for a Christmas present. "I expect they will just hang out as a family in the sunshine for the day…and maybe Doria will baby sit while Harry and Meghan go out for dinner or celebrate with friends.” The day before the Duchess' birthday, the couple were spotted out at the trendy Italian restaurant Tre Lune near their home in Montecito, which is a favourite spot for many A-Listers.

For her pre-birthday outing, Meghan looked glamorous in a £188 strapless black and white dress by designer Posse, which she paired with her Cult Gaia bag and flat strappy black sandals.
