Meghan Markle has no 'clear direction' in regards to her future path as she continues to use her royal titles while being rumoured to be considering a job in US politics.According to Pauline Maclaran, Professor of Marketing and Consumer Research at Royal Holloway, University of London the 42-year-old is trying to keep her foot in 'both camps' as she keeps her Duchess of Sussex title as a 'status symbol' but also tries to make a move in the political world. However, if Meghan's next move is to attempt to win over voters in America, it might be wise for her to leave her royal credit at home with Prince Harry, the professor has warned. The United States famously severed ties with the British Royal Family when they declared independence on July 4, 1776, the Express reports. Therefore, if Meghan was to let off any fireworks in the political arena it may be "appropriate" to distance herself from the old colonial power. It seems Meghan is already popular among the US public as it was recently reported that she had come at the top of a poll among Democrats if the party picks a woman as its candidate for the 2024 presidential election.Professor Maclaran told the Express: "When she was lobbying for parental leave she used her Duchess of Sussex title and I don't think that was an appropriate move."To me that indicates she doesn't quite know where she is.

She wants to use that title as a status symbol but, for a political route in the US, using a title is really rather ridiculous. "It shows she wants to keep a foot in both camps.

She could have said she was co-founder of Archewell or an actress. "The royal title still seems to contribute to her sense of self and identity.
