Matthew McConaughey is looking back at his career and revealing that after starring in a string of romantic comedies, he almost quit Hollywood.

When I had my rom-com years, there was only so much bandwidth I could give to those, and those were some solid hits for me,” McConaughey told Interview. “But I wanted to try some other stuff.” McConaughey said that he “wasn’t getting” the roles that he wanted and opted “to leave Hollywood for two years.” “Dude, it was scary.
