But a year ago it looked as though Peaty might not make it as he hit rock bottom.The Englishman this week opened his heart on the pressure that saw him walk away from the sport for six months after reaching breaking point last March.
Fighting his demons saw him turn to alcohol after a troublesome 2022 that brought a broken foot, a split from the mother of his son and a downturn in form in the pool.Peaty said he was “at the bottom looking up”.
