Manchester United could be placed on red-hot alert by the news that Jonathan Tah reportedly has no intention of signing a new deal with Bayer Leverkusen.

The 28-year-old Germany international has less than 12 months remaining on his current deal with Xabi Alonso's side and will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs overseas from New Year's Day.

Tah, who has made over 250 Bundesliga appearances for the club since signing from Hamburger SV in 2015, was expected to join Bayern Munich in August, but a move to the Allianz Arena fell through.

According to Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg, though, the defender is still eyeing a move away from Leverkusen and is unwilling to extend his contract with the club.
