King Charles has a "lifelong aspiration" to visit every Commonwealth nation, but his dream is being challenged by the ever-growing number of member countries and his doctors' advice.

During a special dinner with the Queen for Commonwealth leaders, he expressed his desire to tick off the remaining dozen or so nations on his list.

At the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Samoa, he shared: "It remains a lifelong aspiration to have visited all the countries of the Commonwealth – although nowadays it seems to be a race against our happily increasing numbers – as well as doctor's orders." On his last evening in Samoa, the King spoke fondly of his connection to the Commonwealth, stating: "The Commonwealth can surely be a source of hope." He also mentioned that despite "dark clouds gathered", tackling global issues requires global cooperation and that "dialogue and discussion" are key to finding peace.

The King dressed in a Red Sea rig shirt featuring designs from the Samoan School of Fine Art, while the Queen looked elegant in an embroidered blue tunic and palazzo trousers by Anna Valentine, complemented with diamond earrings.
