Lulu breaks down in tears as she opens up on heartbreaking loss: 'It still runs deep'
ok.co.ukSinger Lulu was overcome with emotion when she talked about her mum and dad dying in a new interview, explaining it was really hard because they died close to each other.
Speaking to Gyles Brandreth on his podcast, Rosebud, Lulu, 75, shared how her mum and dad didn't always get along but they still loved each other.
She said: "They loved each other because ultimately, they stayed together, which sounds crazy because today it wouldn't happen.
My mother died first, she was in her late 70s, and she died of cancer.Then my father died two years later, I would say of a broken heart." Lulu's voice got shaky as she continued: "I can't believe I still have tears about this but it's deep, it runs deep." She detailed how her dad drank too much alcohol and sometimes acted in ways that were hard to predict.
