Daytime TV"s presenters are fairly used to the air turning a certain shade of blue. In July, This Morning's Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond had to say sorry to viewers after Scottish presenter Isla Traquair drank an alcoholic drink and swore live on TV.

And at the start of this year, Loose Women's Denise Welch was apologetic after swearing during a Prince Harry debate. Now telly legend Lorraine Kelly has also been forced to apologise after a sweary double blunder on her hit ITV show Lorraine today, 12 September.

Homeland star Damian Lewis, 52, was on the show to talk about an album of songs he's releasing and went on to talk about starring in the Sky drama Billions, where he plays hedge fund magnate Bobby Axelrod, which described as "a show about a*******s being a*******s." Lorraine, 63, swiftly responded: "Yes it is a show about a*******s." But it wasn't long before she had to hold up her hands and apologise after seemingly being told off by bosses from the production gallery. "This is hilarious, but I've just been told that we have to apologise for you saying a-hole" Lorraine revealed, before turning to Damian and adding: "And I said it as well – I have to apologise for myself!" Damian recorded his album two years after the death of his Peaky Blinders actress wife Helen McCrory, who had been secretly battling breast cancer.

The Hollywood star, who also starred in the Harry Potter films, passed away at her home peacefully in April 2021. Damian shared the heartbreaking news on Twitter at the time, as he said: "I'm heartbroken to announce that after an heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family.
