Liam James Payne (born 29 August 1993) is an English singer and songwriter.
He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction.
Payne made his debut as a singer when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor in 2008. After being eliminated as a solo performer, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction

ok.co.ukLiam Payne's father has made a solemn promise and has “vowed to do the right thing” and stay with his late son, it has been reported.The former One Direction star tragically died after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at the age of 31.The initial findings from an autopsy indicate that he suffered “multiple traumas” leading to an “internal and external haemorrhage”.The Public Prosecutor's Office noted that the injuries from the fall were unsurvivable. “The head injuries were sufficient to cause death, while the internal and external haemorrhages in the skull, chest, abdomen and limbs contributed to the mechanism of death,” the statement explained.
Following his son’s death, Liam's devastated father, Geoff, flew to Argentina shortly after and has reportedly pledged to stay with him until he can return to the UK.
It’s alleged that a representative of the public prosecutor's office met with Geoff to inform him that the toxicology and histopathological exams are not yet complete and that the results are needed before the body can be released to the family.
A source has since claimed that Geoff is finding the situation “really tough” and is understandably “heartbroken” after the loss of his only son.
