‘Leave The World Behind’ Marks A Second Week As Netflix’s Most-Watched Title; ‘My Life With The Walter Boys’ Takes Over TV
deadline.comAudiences are still flocking to Netflix‘s new apocalyptic thriller Leave the World Behind. The film, directed by Sam Esmail, drummed up another 44.9M views in its second week on the streamer from December 11 to 17.
It was once again top dog, easily notching another week as Netflix’s most-watched title. Add that to the 41.7M views that the film managed in its debut week, and Netflix appears to have a hit on its hands.
It’s still too early to tell whether Leave the World Behind will claim a spot on the most popular film list, though it is very possible if it keeps the momentum going through the holidays.
The film has until March to surpass Extraction 2‘s 134M views in its 91-day premiere window. So, basically, viewership would have to fall off a cliff for it to get shut out from the most popular list.
